The Posey’s latest update from Alaska

July 2010

Hello to everyone,

We are having a great time even though we are very busy.  We have had teams from several different states and team members of all ages.  god has really been using the volunteers this year.  So far there have been 18 salvations among the children in the parks here in Anchorage.  Praise and glory to God for all the fruit.  We have been able to help a lot of residents with service projects such as food, furniture, painting, cleaning, building, etc. We have also sent teams to several different bush villages and God has done amazing things there also. We have also been cleared to go back into Tetlin.  Thank you all for your prayers in that situation.

Jerry and I went to Eagle River today and set up Valley View Baptist Church to house a team of 26 for the next week.  We go back tomorrow to take the team up. Then next Monday we go Halibut fishing.  Looking forward to that. Please continue to pray for God’s moving in all the areas of Alaska where we have teams working.  Pray for us to be sensitive to where God is working and what He wants us to do.

Will write again as soon as possible.

Love you all and miss everyone.

Jerry and Melissa

Sunday School is vital for growth.

The Sunday School Ministry is for all ages with the purpose of reaching people and teaching the Word of God.

Classes are provided for all age groups

9:15am and 10:45am every Sunday

If you are attending Sunday School for the first time, someone will meet you in the church lobby and gladly help you find a class where you will be warmly welcomed.

If you are visiting with us and would like information about the different classes we offer, please call the church office at 770-251-7762.

6 Reasons Why Sunday School Is A Must!

1. Sunday school provides a basic systematic study of the scriptures at a level of understanding for that age group.

2. Sunday school allows an opportunity for its members to talk and share about their needs with others in similar life situations.

3. Sunday school provides an opportunity for personal application of the scriptures based on the age level of the class.

4. Sunday school provides for fellowship and a sense of belonging for each member of the class.

5. Sunday school provides a platform for people to serve the Lord through teaching and administration.

6. Sunday school is a training ground for young Christians to be more productive in their church and gives them the opportunity to develop their skills and talents for the Lord.
